poem 120106

December 1, 2006

Snow
like salt poured on the table
even
solid
angular
a short mound under a staircase
me
sitting quiet, hands on the wheel
staring
snow
like static
a life-breaker
the manic-maker

pale sky
half cloud half reflection
gazing upward
hands on wheel
crunch under tires

snow
like sky
snow
like sky

  1. Fat, heavy raindrops
fall hard on cold, bare branches.
    The world’s wrapped in grey.
